Copyright Issue

A Sea snail is talking to a jewelry maker. Let me translate it into one of the human languages.
He/She said: "If you want to use my shell for your necklace production when I am dead, you have to pay for the copyright[1], say, 15 planktons a day....."

[1] Copyright for the unique copy of shell generated from a unique combination of genes.

I hope the copyright fee is paid in advance? Because if the 15 plankton is to be divided among thousands of orphan baby snails I can't imagine it being enough to feed them.

Right! There should be a law about it.
